On the evening of September 9, 2020, the Chinese multi-current system electric locomotive for export to Hungarian was launched at CRRC Zhuzhou. This electric train, which looks like a “bison”, has a tough, simple, and modern appearance. The blue body is painted with a white logo and black ribbon, giving a refreshing feel and highlighting the power and impact of the locomotive. Lankwitzer provided water-based paint for the whole carbody.

The successful export of “Bison” loco has a great significance despite that only 4 was placed in the first order. It marks the first time when Chinese mainline electric loco enters the core market in Europe. Moreover, it means that Chinese railroad equipment manufacturers, especially for whole train manufacturing, are getting familiar with the European railroad certification system, which will provide valuable experience for further opening the European market. Although it is foreseeable that the course of Chinese trains “going out” to Europe will be very difficult, but a good solid walk in each step is bound to have a bright future.

Hungary is the first European country to join the “One Belt One Road” initiative. For this, Lankwitzer contributes to the field of the rail transit industry with its adherence to the spirit of openness and regional cooperation. The successful launch of the “Bison” electric loco is another milestone in the cooperation between CRRC Zhuzhou and Lankwitzer.
