2019 Lankwitzer Rail Transit Eco-Friendly and High-Efficiency Paint Technology Forum Concluded

On November 17, 2019, the “Eco-Friendly Paint and High-Efficiency paint Technology Forum”, hosted by Lankwitzer and co-organized by Shenzhen TEDA Robotics, Carlisle Fluid Technologies (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, Covestro Polymers (China) Co., Ltd, has concluded successfully in Shanghai.

The forum invited experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning (CAEP), Institute of Chemistry Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS), Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), rail transit industry, and partners such as urban metro operators to discuss the cutting-edge technology of rail transit vehicles and the trend of national eco-friendly policy, as well as to showcase the new technology/new process, future development and application of Lankwitzer, and share technological innovation results and solutions.

Mr. Marco Si, vice chairman of Lankwitzer, briefly introduced the history of Lankwitzer. The company always focuses on the customization of paint for the rail transit industry, providing customers with eco-friendly and efficient paint systems and painting solutions.

Specially Invited Experts

Defending the blue sky is a major national decision and campaign. A series of standards, policies and regulations for controlling volatile organic compounds (VOCs) have been introduced in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. As more emphasis is placed on eco-friendly paint, the issue of manufacturing paint that is more eco-friendly and efficient for rail transit becomes the direction for future development.

Ning Miao, deputy director of the Atmospheric Department of CAEP, brought new ideas for enterprises to turn challenges into opportunities through his keynote speech Policy Requirements and Technical Solutions for Comprehensive Treatment of VOCs in Industrial Painting.

Zhang Zongbo, a researcher from the ICCAS also explained in his keynote speech High-Performance Polymer Ceramic Paint and Its Application in rail transit, a major strategic goal of high-tech innovative research, which inspired new R&D ideas for enterprises.

Prof. He Yong from BUCT briefly introduced his Light-Heat Dual Curing System Based on Isocyanate Structure, which evaluated the process and performance of the dual curing system and provided sufficient scientific and theoretical basis for rapid paint and repair.

The two co-organizers of this forum, GM Chen from TEDA Robotics and GM Chen from Carlisle Fluid Technologies, also introduced the intelligent robot automatic spraying system, fine airless spraying, electrostatic spraying, and other efficient paint technologies to enhance paint utilization and achieve green and efficient painting.

Zhu Deyong, a manager from co-organizer Covestro introduced Water-Based Polyurethane Paint and Sustainable, Innovative Polyurethane Solutions to help upgrade the rail transit industry with environmental protection and safety as the core drivers.

Dr. Liu Xiao from CRRC Changchun put forward higher requirements for paint manufacturers by interpreting eco-friendly paint development policies and standards, centering green development and taking into account high efficiency and functionality.

Prof. Yu Quanlei from CRRC Qingdao Sifang Rolling Stock Research Institute, Prof. Zhao Min from CRRC Qingdao Sifang, and Prof. Dai Huixin from CRRC Nanjing Puzhen also interpreted the standard of water-based paint products and paint process for rail transit vehicles.

Massimo Dinelli, director of R&D for water-based paint, presented the Lankwitzer New Generation Water-Based Paint System, which elevated the performance of water-based paint for rail transit to a new level.

Mr. Luke Zhu, chairman of the Lankwitzer, presented UV Dual-Curing Rapid Repair Technology & Lankwitzer Innovative Refurbishment for Used Vehicle, which is comparable to the “hybrid rice” in the paint industry, realizing quality, efficiency, and eco-friendliness and truly solving the sore point of harsh repair time required for a large number of vehicles in big cities.

Ms. Lisa Xia, R&D director of Lankwitzer, gave a speech on EvoKure®: Innovative Polyurethane Paint Technology, introducing the advantages of polyurethane paint and non-isocyanate curing polyurethane paint technology.
